Are Russian Blue Cats really Hypoallergenic?

I want a russian blue cat but my sister is aparentty allergic so i dont think i can get one but i looked them up and stuff and sum sites say they are and some say there not
so my question is are they hypoallergic?
and are there any russian blue cats owners that are allergic to cats but have a russsian blue?
woULD a russian blue be a good cat chose for a household wiht someone allergic?

No. There is no particular breed that’s completely hypoallergenic. The chemicals which spark allergens are present in skin, saliva, and urine. Fur has nothing to do with it. Specific cats of any breed or mix of breeds can produce more or less of the chemicals. You need to find the particular cat that doesn’t produce much of the chemical that sparks your sister’s particular allergy. It may be a shelter mutt or it may be a purebred of some type. It really boils down to trial and error. It is possible for people with allergies to live with cats but don’t just buy any cat because it’s labeled hypoallergenic.

Interesting!!! When I first married my husband< I knew I wanted 2 cats for pets. I am a huge cat lover! Then he tells me he’s allergic.
We researched, and found that a few breeds are hypo-allergenic. We picked the Russian Blue breed. My husband has no problem at all, and our “fur-balls” sleep in our bed at night! Then we had kids. We later had them tested for allergies, they were both allergic to cats. Again, no problem at all. We have even added a British Shorthair to the mix. Surprisingly, no problem. I am not allergic. Hubby, son and daughter are. Russian Blues are very shy around strangers, they like a calm peaceful family life, but they are the most sweet-natured cats, very loving. : )
