Wow, Ferrets they have to be the best pet I have ever owned . I am unsure about Siberian cats but I have owned several ferrets in my life and they are very social very friendly and LOVE attention. Because you are just a kid I would recommend researching them quite a bit before you run out and buy one. They can take some time to get use to but the plus side of them is they sleep for 16 hours a day unless of course you let them out. Ferrets need to run around and play for quite a bit of time if you dont play with them they will chew on the bars of their cage. If you can try and get something in the backyard (if you have one) for them to run around in during the time your with them. When a ferret gets bored they will walk straight and just spread out on the floor this is called “speed bumping.” I always thought this as adorable behavior but they are bored. Ferrets contrary to popular belief do not smell unless you do not wash them (once a month) or you do not clean their cage. They do need a cage cleaning about twice a week. If you do decide on a ferret for a pet buy a book along with them and also get some yesterdays news for their bedding. Try and avoid the ceder or pine chips for this clogs up their noses and makes it difficult for them to breathe. If you are getting a ferret from a pet store make sure you look at their noses before you find the one you want. I bought a ferret from a pet smart and the nose was completely clogged i was unaware she passed away two weeks later. This is a very bad sickness they seem to get and a lot of pet stores have sick ferrets so try and find one with no discharge (yellow hard discharge) from the nose and nothing from the eyes or mouth. I hope this helps you keep me updated!

Ive had 5 ferrets… they are very playful extremely but can nip and bite when young. They need a lot of cleaning, they go to the bathroom a lot, nails need to be clipped and ears cleaned reguarly. However, they are loving, fun, crazy, get into stuff- way better than house cats… though not sure about a siberian cat.

Siberian cats can be GREAT pets for kids!! If they are raised by a good, responsible breeder. My cats are raised with our 20 month old son and they adore him! They even let him cuddle and hug them.
Our boy Favst plays with our son all day long. They play ball together and they also play with straws. I make Gabriel one long super straw and he runs around the house with Favst or Sonja chasing the straw. It’s adorable!!
I have photos of him with our cats on my website at http://www.Pendraig.com and will be adding a Siberians with kids page today!
Whichever you get be sure your new pet is from a responsible breeder, or rescue and may you have many long years of joy together! =)
