Is this a recognized cat breed yet?

I have a 5 month old kitten who is a cross between an Ocicat and a Tonkinese. I was told this breed is called Ocitonk but I can’t find any reference to it anywhere. Can anyone help please? Dad is an Ocicat and Mum is a lilac Tonkinese.
Thank you for all your answers. The breeders (who are also qualified vets) never said he was an Ocitonk. I got him from them as an Ocicat X. He was neutered before I got him. It was someone else who suggested the breed was a new one called Ocitonk and I should look it up, which I did. The breeders have entire cats and sometimes accidents do happen. I did not pay a fortune for him, but he is beautiful and I wanted him to have a good home. He deserves to have a nice life as it wasn’t his fault he was born. I have a Lynx Point Siamese boy I rescued, a Tonkinese girl that is an unrecognised colour so nobody wanted her either, and now this little fellow. I’m not into breeding myself. These are just lovely cats who deserve a good home. I also had a Tonkinese X but although he has a wonderful personality and is smoochy and friendly he’s a big cat and he bullied the little girl cat badly so he’s now living with a friend of mine, with no other cats. My cats are always either neutered or spayed

It is not a recognized breed by the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA).

Very cute!
Isn’t there a cat show site somewhere? Look for that.
If it’s an “Ocitonk” or whatever you called it, that might be just a sort of maltipoo kind of thing. I’m not quite sure if the maltipoo is an official breed, but just look up an ocitonk on official cat show websites and see if you would be able to look it up on there.
Feel free to email me if you are having any more troubles.

It has all the sounds of a so called designer breed which is a fancy way of saying mutt. Just like Maltipoos, these animals are not now and never will be a breed or anything else.
Not to be unkind, but no responsible honest cat breeder would ever breed two breeds together and make up a cutesy poo name like Ocitonk and tell the buyers they will be recognized someday. You bought your kitten from a dishonest sleazy backyard breeder and probably paid too much.

No, it’s not an official breed. Believe it or not, mixed breed dogs and cats are given unofficial breed names(such as puggle, ocitonk, and bocker) just so that more people are willing to buy them. I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about some people who do do it. Mixed breed pets, such as your kitten, usually live longer than pure breeds, although some mixes are more likely to develop health problems than pure breeds, although most problems are in fact treatable. ♥

It takes years for a breed to become recognized and once the breed is established you don’t just make themselves by crossbreeding cats. Your cat is nothing – it’s a mixed breed cat. Did you breed this kitten or foolishly buy it from someone claiming it was an “Ocitonk”?
What breeder sold you an unaltered Ocicat and an unaltered Tonkinese? (or whoever owns them)? Reputable breeders sell their animals altered unless the animal has been chosen to be part of the cattery’s breeding program. So unless you have (or whoever owns the cats) papers for the “Ocicat” and “Tonkinese” odds are neither of them are even those specific breeds. Or perhaps those are pedigreed cats but from backyard breeders churning out non show-quality animals. And by buying this cat you’re supporting bad breeders.

I just want you to know…I like you
So many people feel that pure-breds or really any cat NOT living in a shelter should not be purchased…and you just said what I have been hoping people would start saying – that its not his fault and he has every right to have a good home too.
I can’t offer any helpful advice or information about the Ocitonk. I just wanted to let you know you just made me very happy.
