   Mau’s aren’t common cats, you aren’t going to find a real one in a shelter or from any add. You can find reputable breeders along with additional information on Mau’s on the TICA or CFA web sites:

   Expect to pay $800 or more for a pet quality kitten, and also that there will probably be a waiting list. If what you want is a similarly marked cat, they often show up in shelters, you’d just need to be patient until a tabby with the right coat pattern came along.
