I really want to train my 3 cats (two 8mo. olds, one 4 year old) to sit, I have always wanted to do that. Have any one else done that? How and what do I do?
I’vehad two other cats before these three. We have a dog..already trained. >.<

Get a dog. Cats are independant. They usually dont listen to commands, even if you reward them.

Only some cats are trainable like that. You have to go through a lot of cats before you find one that can be trained to sit.

First, cats are independent thinkers and doers. The best time to (try) to train them is when they are kittens. If you absolutely must exercise your power over them this way, I suggest you contact one of the Hollywood animal trainers and see if they will offer some advice.
Or…get a dog. You see, dogs have owners. Cats have staff.

I’d have to agree w/ what the others have said. Cat’s are so independent that it would be next to impossible to train them to sit on command.
You could contact a trainer and see what they think the possibilities are?????
Honestly, I’ve never heard of anyone being able to do that, but I know somewhere out there, I bet there’s a cat who sits when told.
Good luck!

Your odds of bringing peace to the world is far better than teaching your cat to sit. good luck.

I have manage to teach my orange cat to sit and stand by using a clicker tool. He use to have this bad habit of running to the fridge when I open it and jumping onto my back. Now he’ll stand if he wants something (Like a manekineko) and sits when I don’t want him dashing towards something. It’s pretty simple to teach but it just takes a long time. I guess what really counts is how well your cat is willing to listen. If you want to give it a try then you should get a Clicker and check out the training videos on youtube.

Oh Believe me its possible, My cat is almost a two years old now and I have taught her to sit, shake and lay down.
Yes Cats are indeppendent but its obviously possible.
You just have to use a reward system with treats and the first few times of doing “sit”, make sure to say the command and push her bum down so she is sitting then feed her the treat and praise her, she will eventually learn that without sitting, she doesn’t get a treat. Same goes with shake, hold her paw and then feed her the treat while saying the command. Once again she’ll learn that without doing the trick, she doesnt get the food.
And trust me, my cats not the sharpest tool in the shead so dont worry. And it doesnt take a million days either, I’d say about a week or less a trick if your very consistent.
Ps. Don’t give her a treat if she doesnt do the trick. It will reverse everything you taught her.

I cant answer that but i can help u train your a cat a cool trick:
SKATEBOARDING
Supplies: 1 Skateboard (nothing fancy a Cheapy)
Tape (clear)
Small cat toy (best to use a paper-wad)
Smooth long area hallway,blacktop,etc.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. tape paper-wad to front of skateboard
2.set cat to right of board squeez paper wad
to distract kitten to paper wad
3. Once cat is watching paper wad roll the board
this will take a lot of practice and patience may a while to get right but when right the cat will be able chase the board jump on and push himself faster for a distance! ENJOY!
