who knows a lot about kitty cats?

i have never had a cat, i was always a dog person…i have a small tea cup dog but now i have this adorable kitty will someone please fill me in on things to know and do…like how many times to i feed the kitty? how soon do i change the litter box? can i give them a bath like i do my dog? and um what should i have for the cat like any good treats? how do i train a cat? omg please help i fell in love with her and i got her so unexpectatly! thank you so much in advance!

Aww congrats on the kitty. its a big change from a dog.
Food is sometimes difficult to judge for each individual cat. With all the cats I’ve had we have just left food in their bowl for them at all times and they only eat what they need. Alot of other people I know only feed their cats once or twice a day and usually its between 1/3 to 1 cup. Depends on the age of the cat and size.
My cats have never had weight problems and are very healthy and active.
As for the litter… once a day or once every other day scooping is good enough and change all the litter every 2 weeks.

How many times should you feed the cat?
You should feed your kitten depending on their weight, it is usually listed on the bag.
You soon do you change the litter box? It doesn’t matter, just don’t let it fill too much up!
Can you give them a bath? No. They clean themselves by licking.
Training a cat? You don’t need to! They’re independent usually.

u should feed her at least 2 times a day or you could make sure there is always food available. change the litter box when it has been used for a while maybe clean it out once a day. i wouldnt give it a bath unless it is dirty. I bet the cat would love some treat..you can get them at almost any grocery store. training a cat can be hard and will take alot of patience

I normally feed my kitties 2x a day, each time about 1/2 cup of dry food along with a little bit of wet food (canned wet food). I change the litter every other day, otherwise it gets smelly .. ew! Most cats HATE water and will claw you horribly if you try to bathe them, but if it needs to freshen up, you can buy these cat bath wipes from any pet store. Most cats clean themselves very well and dont usually need help. You should really consider making it an indoor kitty, outdoor kitties have about 1/3 the lifespan of an indoor kitty due to cars, dogs, etc. You can get some good & pretty cheap cat treats at walmart or a pet store… cats usually prefer soft treats (just look on the label)… mine often refuse hard/crunchy treats..? You can train them using treats just like a dog, i trained all of mine to sit on command
OH and dont give her milk, just give her water. Many cats are allergic and end up throwing up after making them really sick. And dont feed her any pork like ham or bacon because its really bad for cat’s livers.
AND boy cats can start to spray, so if he/she isnt already spayed/neutered, def do that. If he starts spraying, its a horrible mess. Cats also have a bad scratching habit, and for me, its gotten really bad/costly/unsightly. You can have them declawed by a vet (but its very painful for kitty) or you can train her/get these cat nail plastic covers you glue on her nails… pet stores have them and im sure you could even take them to your vet and have them put them on for pretty cheap.
If you adopted the cat off the street, it may need a flea dip (take it to the vet) or you can try putting a flea collar on it. Good luck!!
edit: some ppl leave out cat food 24/7 which works well for a cat, but NOT for those people who have both cats and dogs. Dogs LOVE cat food bc its so fatty and its really bad for them, so def dont leave cat food out all the time.. the dog will be eating way more of it than the cat ever will

clean the litter box about every other day……..you can purchase it dry food which you can leave out all the time and also leave out water all the time………..you can alos get canned food as a treat once a day…………………to help it bond with you hold it and play with it daily otherwise it will be mean

um, it is kindof hard to traina cat, but the same way u do to a dog i guess. o, u should change the litter box atleast once a day, u can buy cat treats for it, there r different flavors andn the cat may not like all of them.um, u dont need to bath ur cat cause they do that buy themselves.and wiht my cat, whenever her dich is empty, i fill it half way cause if she eats all of it she gets sick…yucky
