My dog suffers from skin allergies, right now he’s on Royal Canine hypoallergenic dog food. I would like to sometimes give him fruits and vegetables as a treat, is this safe? if so, what fruits and vegetables are non harmful to a dog with allergies?

Dog allergies can be very complicated. Some dogs are allergic to beef. Others are allergic to chicken. It’s just such a game. My dog is allergic to chicken so we have him on a bison based formula.

If he is not having skin allergies on the Royal Canine, then you can try some things like carrots and banana. The only thing is, reading the ingredient list of Royal Canin (I’m assuming that’s the brand?)… it’s not a very good food. It uses soy and that’s a high allergy food for dogs. So if your dog is not under control on this food, then you need to look for other types of food before you add anything else.
