My husband and I just got a little dog, the dog scratches constantly and now I’m itchy and I have little bumps on my back and stomach. My husband plays with the dog more than I do and he doesn’t itch or anything! Anybody have some guidance?

Sounds like flea bites.

The puppy may have fleas, it sure sounds like it.
Take pup to the vet for a general check and it may be due for vaccination and worming. While you are there buy a good flea treatment.
If the pup does have fleas you will need to also get a good all wormer because from fleas, comes tapeworm.
You should use a flea preventative and worm your pup regularly.

Flea bites. You just smell better or otherwise are more attractive to them. I’ve never seen anything but a good flea shampoo bath + Frontline afterward + insanely frequent vacuuming (fleas lay their eggs on the ground) get rid of them. Fleas are very resilient.

it sounds similar to a problem i had w/mine. if its not fleas it could be microscopic mites. they can cause a reaction in humans also. i gave them a good bath as well as washed anything they may have contact with including your bedding .it seems to work well.

it could be fleas but u would see them try combing the dog if u do not see any fleas it could be mange how old is ur dog mange can be contracted from the mother and lay dormant on them .If it fleas just get some spray and then front line also make sure u spray the whole house and wash anything the dog has come into contact with if u do not find fleas it could be mange which is only mites but u have to wash the dog in chemicals its easy to cure but u must pay a visit to the vet
GOOD LUCK
