How expensive can having a Saint Bernard dog get on a daily basis?

Not as a puppy but as an adult dog. Taking in consideration veterinarian visits, feeding, vitamins, and whatever it might need as an extra. Maybe a monthly budget or yearly. Thank you so much for your help! I just don’t want to get a SB without the propper knowledge in all fields.

Feeding: depends on what you feed. The more crap you feed, the more crap comes out.
Vitamins are not needed for a good diet.
All the things you listed vary on what you want for your dog. And what happens to your dog. Lets say your dog gets bloat or blows a hip, that is 5000 right there, but majority of the time that doesnt happen and you dont have any major vet care beyond what most people do. I go holistic ways as much as possible which is more expensive, but healthier.

The larger the dog, the more expensive the medical treatment. Vaccinations do not go by weight, but medications do if they need treatment. Surgery can be more expensive, the larger the dog.
Flea prevention(such as Frontline, etc), goes by weight..the bigger the dog, the more expensive the medicine.
Heartworm prevention goes by weight, so for most adult Saints you will need two heartworm pills per month per dog.
If you take the dog to get groomed or a bath, they go by weight, so larger dog…more expensive.
Food depends on what type you buy. Someone mentioned to me that you can plan on buying 50 pounds of food per dog per month…I am not sure if that is correct or not, as it would depend on what type of food you feed and whether or not you supplement with canned or other food. Will you get dog biscuits and dog treats? Larger dog…more treats.
Training classes do not go by weight, but are important with big, strong dogs. But that would not be necessarily a monthly or yearly figure, but an expense incurred perhaps two or three times in it’s life time.
Adding a Saint Bernard to your life is not a cheap proposition if you are going to give it the proper care and feeding.
PS Ok, just went out and got a bunch of routine items for the dogs, so I have a better figure on how much things cost. I have two adult Saints. I just bought 6 months of Frontline Plus for them and 9 months of heartworm medicine for the two of them and it was over $300. The food we use runs between $43 and $48 for a 33 pound bag of food. That size bag lasts us about 2- 2 1/2 weeks . I also have pet insurance on them, which is about $250 per dog, per year(we started it as puppies). This does not cover immunizations, but is more for emergency situations and surgeries.

A guy at work has one and he has spent 1′000s$ on vet bills. They have a lot of issues. I would def look into this a lot before getting one.
