Check your local shelters first to see if they have any. It will cost a lot less to buy them from a shelter plus you are saving a life:)

If they don’t you can go to the Australian Terrier Club of America website:

You can contact someone from here and see if there are any breeders in your area.

Find a responsible breeder that either shows or works his dogs.

This breeder should ask you a TON of questions.

BOth the parents should have extensive health testing – OFA, CERF, BAER and whatever is required for the breed.

Make sure you are knowledgeable about the breed, have met and spent time with the breed, and that your lifestyle matches the breed’s needs.

http://www.pbrc.net/breeding3.html is a fantastic chart that talks about good vs. bad breeders

http://www.australianterrier.org/ can refer you to a breeder in your area.

Well, I first suggest you research, because, if you don’t, you may end up with the wrong dog. Remember that any random person or quiz is just for entertainment, and you need to choose the dog you want. :)

Once you find the perfect dog….
I would search your local shelter, because they may have the dog you are looking for and you could be saving the doggie’s life. And they will love you for it. :D

But, if you just have no idea…. I would suggest you go to your local shelter and take a look around. There is lots to choose from, and they are just… adorable!
Also, if maybe you find out after some research that you don’t like that dog? And you are looking for something specific?
I would get a Labrador, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, Corgi…etc.
Good luck with your pup, and hope you find your best friend! :D
    **Best Wishes**
