What breed of dog is this?

I saw this dog last week at the park and I SWEAR I’ve seen a breed of dog that looks just like the dog did but I can’t for the life of me figure out what breed it is!!!

At first I thought he was an Anatolian Shepherd but then I went on AKCs website and took another look at them and that’s not it. He looked really similar but a little different.

He was a bigger dog, I’d say maybe around 80-90lbs or so. He was a light tan color (the same color as an anatolian shepherd) and he appeared to have the same coat length and texture as an anatolian shepherd. But what’s really throwing me off is his facial markings. He had black “tear stain” like markings running from the inside corner of his eyes to the outside corners of his lips. They were maybe two inches or so wide. His muzzle was also partially white. His head also was different than an anatolian, I just can’t really put my finger on how. I would say it was just a poorly bred anatolian but I swear I’ve seen an actual breed that looks like this!

I’ve looked at all the breeds on AKCs website and and I’ve even looked at breeds on other kennel club’s websites trying to figure it out and I can’t find a single breed that fits my description!

It’s driving me nuts!
Ok so maybe this particular dog was a mix, but isn’t there a breed where the black tear-stain like facial markings are a characteristic? I could have sworn there was one…
Also I think I’ve figured out how his head was different, it was “blockier” and almost more molosser like. More like a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog or something

He may have been a mix with the Anatolian and some other breed, thus why you cannot pinpoint the exact breed.

It was probably a mutt. The best breed there is.

It must be a mixed breed.

Anatolians are a rare breed so your odds of coming across one are low. Chances are high the dog is a mixed breed of some kind.

Damn, lol. I am not sure and I am awesome when it comes to dog breeds. Hmm, sounds like it could be mixed with an Anatolian? Not sure, good luck!

It sounds like the Greater African Grey, from which the normal African Grey is descended. The normal one is a much nicer animal and very fond of children.

It still could have been an Anatolian. Any color and pattern is acceptable, they can range from 27-29″s and 80-150#s depending on sex, heads are blockier in males (not snipey or narrow). I use to groom 2 Anatolians. The males was much larger and heavier than the female. One did have white and black face markings, the other just had black points.
